December

Well now that December is gone, I have a spare minute to update things.
We blessed Elijah Grant Werner in Liberty Lake, Wa the first Sunday of December. It was nice to have Josh's family attend.

Jesse got married on the 18th of December. I went down the week before to make the cake. I wouldn't have been able to get it done without the extra hands to help with Eli and the cake too.

The pictures are a little more forgiving than seeing it in person, but for the first wedding cake I've ever made it turned out pretty good. It is all cake, three layers of it. Red velvet and white with raspberry and fudge filling. A cake like this one all Styrofoam would cost about 700 dollars.  It didn't cost me 1/7th of that for the supplies. It was kind of stressful to do, I mean nobody wants an ugly wedding cake, but I might consider doing another one, in a few years when I don't have a fussy newborn. :) I learned quite a bit as one always does on a first try. over all it was a fun learning experience. I wasn't sad to see it be eaten though.

I'll post more pictures when I get them. Ella was an adorable ring bearer, met her first love who she danced with the entire time. Wyatt was quite the little break dancer the star of the show. I was glad I could be there.

Christmas was good this year, we stayed up here as Josh couldn't get off work to go down south with me we didn't want to leave him a lone for the holidays. I hope everyone has a wonderful 2011.

Welcome to this World baby Elijah

Baby Eli was born at 9:24 on Friday November 12th. 8lbs 10z and 20 inches long. He came after about 3 hours of major labor pains and I was only at the hospital for 2 hours and 10 minutes before he was born. Luckily the epidural was able to kick in, unluckily I tested positive for Group B strep which can cause respitory infections if adequate atibiotics are not given during delivery. Obviously because of the time constraint I wasn't able to get two doses of atibiotcs. When little Eli was having a little trouble breathing, higher than normal respiration rates as well as the use of the substernal and intercostal (rib) muscles they took him to the NICU for monitoring. He had to stay for 48 hours of antibiotics all as a precaution because of the Group B strep. He never showed signs of infection but I'm glad that I don't have to worry about it now that he is home. I didn't like it when they took my baby away, but it was for the best and I have him back now.

Wyatt and Eleanore are pretty taken with their newest sibling. Especially Ella who always wants to hold him. Ella said when she came to visit in the hospital, before they took him to the NICU, "This is mine baby." Wyatt was excited to hold him, but when he did he said, "Mom can you take him back, he stinks." I thought that was pretty funny.

I'm so very glad that Elijah Grant has arrived safe and sound. I am doing very well. Its good to be home. I'll keep you posted on how it is to deal with three when reality sets in and all my help goes home or back to work.:)

Grandpa Mike with 3 of his 4 grand kids. Does that look like a lot of kids to anyone else?

October Goings On

I hope that everyone had a Happy Halloween.
Wyatt was Robin Hood and Ella was Little Red Riding hood. I forgot my camera so I'll post pictures when I get them from my mother-in-law.

What Wyatt and Ella do in the evening; Seed Race in a babydoll stroller.
Josh fixing the dishwasher. I thought he looked pretty funny, he didn't appriciate my humor:) It was making quite a racket. He just took it apart and cleaned it out but now it is quiet again. Atleast we didn't have to replace anything.
 Before
After. I bought more shelves for my washroom and baskets too. I am enjoying doing laundry much more, if laundry can ever be enjoyed, but I was pretty happy about the make over.

Wyatt and Ella on a "hay" ride with straw bales. Such a misnomer, but it was fun. They got to pick popcorn and mini pumpkins.

We went to go get pumpkins we got a great big one this year. 73lbs. Ella is sitting on it. I carved it into a fire breathing dragon, it looked pretty neat, but took a lot of candles to light up. I don't think I got a picture of it. Oh well now you'll just have to trust me that it was cool.

September and Chad's Wedding on the 1st

This is a random picture before we left the house. I thought Ella was pretty cute in her outfit even though it took me atleast 30 minutes to convince her that she would like those pink shorts that I got for half off at once upon a child. The were Gap too so they'll wear nicely. Not bad for 2.50. She accessorized with the sunglasses herself. Wyatt received these duck feet from the neighbor for his birthday. He loves that he leaves behind giant duck foot prints.

My brother Jesse brought the kids up after the sealing to be there for pictures. This is Wyatt in his new suit. It didn't take a ton of coersion to get him to put it on. His favorite part was the tie, because it has helicopters and airplanes and he can put it on himself because is it one of the zipper ones. We let him pick it out. It was totally worth it. I thought this was a great picture.
Chad and Carrie outside the temple. She wore boots with her dress (very cute ones).

The best picture I could get of them together.

A family picture, I guess I shouldn't have hidden my belly then you could actually tell that I'm 8.5 months pregnant :) instead of the alternative.

One where he isn't frowning because he is tired of his suit and his pictures.
Ella in her dress to match her sparkly shoes, like dorothy. She saw this dress in the store and said. "Look at this fableeous dress." Pretty funny.

The kids with my grandma Bernice.

With Grandpa Kelly. I took it when both of them weren't watching or I wouldn't have gotten such and natural smile from either of them. Wyatt had had enough pictures even though we bribed him with ice cream.

The Latest

Well we haven't been doing much. I've been trying to potty train Ella. She is doing good, but she is very stubborn and hard to bribe. It seems to work better to take something away than to promise her something if she goes potty. I'm having a hard time finding motivation to get out of the house. It seems like the kids are more cranky, or maybe I'm just less tolerant, I don't know. But we did meet Josh at a fun park on his lunch hour. The kids fed the fish and watched the turtles.

I threw out some cosmos and painted sunflower seeds, and they kind of got away from me. I wanted to post some pictures of my overgrown front yard.  You can't see the tallest one, but I  was expecting most of these plants to stay somewhat short, like under 36", but I have one that is going to top out taller than me. Okay that isn't that tall, but it looks pretty big next to the deck. One of my sunflowers finally bloomed, I thought it was really pretty.

The best $22 I ever spent. We finally got around to putting in the sand box. Since we moved our garden out side of the fence we decided to move the garden dirt and put in sand for the kids. The rocks we already had and I bought the ground cover for other things so, It cost us for the sand. Wyatt would spend almost all day out there if I would let him. Ella isn't quite as enthusiastic, but I can say that it is well worth the investment. Now we just have to decide what to do with the big pile of dirt we had to pay for because we live in an old river bed. I think we'll have to move it and put a patio and fire pit back there. Eventually.

Enjoy the rest of the Summer. I'm doing good coming up on 7.5 months. Hasn't been too bad, still playing volleyball.
