Kid Pics

 An all wood Dresser I bought at a garage sale for $5 painted red, and put new nobs on.

 A childs recliner I re-upulsterd. I got it for free from a neighbor. It was an ugly blue fabric before and the frame was broken.

An all wood desk I refinished. I was sad to get rid of it but I swear our house is getting smaller. I sold it on craigslist for 40.

Chicken Little Rocker

I took these this summer and I'm just getting around to posting them. I've been busy refinishing and reapulstering. I've tried to sell stuff on craigslist with some success, but I did sell the chicken rocker at a consignment sale for $35 with only $12 for fabric and the chair was free. Not too shabby. If i'd know how high demand there was I would have priced it higher:-).

Grandma Tour 2011

Well we went to visit the grandmas who live south of us. We had a great time and we were glad to come home too. Here is a picture sitting on the dock of the palisades reservoir. I got to visit my friend Meagan. Always a good time, we also visited Josh's Grandmother. A good time was had by all.

Its about time

It's about time for spring, and for an update.

 My bowl cleaner he always volunteers to be the dish washer, at least when it involves licking the cookie dough bowl. I hope he stays that way.

 Birthday cake the same as last year but different colors. I really know that bays don't come with white manes but it is so much easier to make than black.

Eli just yesterday 6 months old and sitting up for the past two weeks. He can roll over both ways and loves to laugh.

Elijah is 6 months old. Wyatt turns five in two months. Eleanore is sassy as ever and Josh has a big project at work so he is working long hours.

Since I last posted I've been to Kentucky and back, to Seattle for my brother's wedding reception (2nd). I've not been on the ball at all, maybe with the return of sunshine will come a return of posting.

My New Bed

Josh and I actually finished this bed before Elijah was born, but I've yet to blog about it. I love it it adds a whole new perspective to my bedroom. I used barn wood collected from my dad's house and plans from ana-white.com. Love her blog she has all sorts of plans for the DIYer so anyway here it is.

 Before. How our bed had been for atlest the last three years of our married life. We did at one point have a metal frame underneath our smaller bed, but when we bought the bigger one, the frame didn't fit.

 We cheated and ran the boards through the planer so that we could take some of the rough off, but leave a the color. I really didn't want splinters in my back. We used a black milk paint for the trim and a satin water base varnish for extra protection and the slight shine.

 

The best thing about it is we did it for less than 150 dollars and Josh did it in two evenings and I did the paint. The only project we have ever finished in less than a week. Thanks Ana-white.com

December

Well now that December is gone, I have a spare minute to update things.

 

We blessed Elijah Grant Werner in Liberty Lake, Wa the first Sunday of December. It was nice to have Josh's family attend.

Jesse got married on the 18th of December. I went down the week before to make the cake. I wouldn't have been able to get it done without the extra hands to help with Eli and the cake too.

 

The pictures are a little more forgiving than seeing it in person, but for the first wedding cake I've ever made it turned out pretty good. It is all cake, three layers of it. Red velvet and white with raspberry and fudge filling. A cake like this one all Styrofoam would cost about 700 dollars.  It didn't cost me 1/7th of that for the supplies. It was kind of stressful to do, I mean nobody wants an ugly wedding cake, but I might consider doing another one, in a few years when I don't have a fussy newborn. :) I learned quite a bit as one always does on a first try. over all it was a fun learning experience. I wasn't sad to see it be eaten though.

I'll post more pictures when I get them. Ella was an adorable ring bearer, met her first love who she danced with the entire time. Wyatt was quite the little break dancer the star of the show. I was glad I could be there.

Christmas was good this year, we stayed up here as Josh couldn't get off work to go down south with me we didn't want to leave him a lone for the holidays. I hope everyone has a wonderful 2011.
