Baby Eli was born at 9:24 on Friday November 12th. 8lbs 10z and 20 inches long. He came after about 3 hours of major labor pains and I was only at the hospital for 2 hours and 10 minutes before he was born. Luckily the epidural was able to kick in, unluckily I tested positive for Group B strep which can cause respitory infections if adequate atibiotics are not given during delivery. Obviously because of the time constraint I wasn't able to get two doses of atibiotcs. When little Eli was having a little trouble breathing, higher than normal respiration rates as well as the use of the substernal and intercostal (rib) muscles they took him to the NICU for monitoring. He had to stay for 48 hours of antibiotics all as a precaution because of the Group B strep. He never showed signs of infection but I'm glad that I don't have to worry about it now that he is home. I didn't like it when they took my baby away, but it was for the best and I have him back now.
Wyatt and Eleanore are pretty taken with their newest sibling. Especially Ella who always wants to hold him. Ella said when she came to visit in the hospital, before they took him to the NICU, "This is mine baby." Wyatt was excited to hold him, but when he did he said, "Mom can you take him back, he stinks." I thought that was pretty funny.
I'm so very glad that Elijah Grant has arrived safe and sound. I am doing very well. Its good to be home. I'll keep you posted on how it is to deal with three when reality sets in and all my help goes home or back to work.:)
Grandpa Mike with 3 of his 4 grand kids. Does that look like a lot of kids to anyone else?

Yay! Congrats! I was thinking he should be here soon! What a beautiful family. Sad to say that I JUST realized Ella's name is Eleanore!!! And I'm jealous because that was one of my faves and Dave wouldn't let me have it! Yeah, it looks like a lot of kids; but at least they are well spread out. Anyway - hang in there! Three's a ride -- as if two isn't!!! Hahahahahahaha!
Welcome Elijah! Glad to hear things went well and that the labor was shorter. He is so cute and seriously chubby too. You are gonna be great with 3. I know it (and yes to me 3 looks like a TON of kiddos)! I love ya and call anytime you need to talk!
Congratulations! I'm glad everything turned out well. You'll do fine with three, just give it time and patience. And lots of naps. :)
Congrats! He is such a cutie and I love his chubby cheeks! Can't believe they are so grown up-time flies by! :) Good luck with everything-I am sure you will do amazing!
Congrats Katie!!! It's hard to believe that you have 3 little kiddos now!! I love the name Elijah Grant...but then I am biased towards the name Grant!! He is so cute!! I am so happy for you!!
Congrats Katie! I'm glad he's doing so well! I know how you feel when you look at three and think, are all of these mine? At least your older ones can help out and it won't be so bad after they are trained. I hope you the best with your newest addition--he's so cute!
Katie,
Congratulations! He is beautiful! I am glad that everything went well. Your kids are getting so big. I hope that one of these days we can catch up. Your little girl is so pretty. She looks just like you but with brown hair. It's wierd to think that some of my friend have three kids. I still feel like we're teenagers, but I guess we're getting old! You will be great! When are you going home next?
